This breakout board provides a convenient way to use the popular BME680 (temperature, humidity, pressure and VOC gas sensor module). BME680 is a low-power sensor that can detect temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure and VOC gas with a high degree of linearity and accuracy. It includes SPI and I2C interfaces, and can use our microcontrollers (such as Arduino, ESP8266) and single-board computers (such as Raspberry Pi) to read the measured values.
This high-precision sensor can measure humidity with an accuracy of ±3%, air pressure with an accuracy of ±1 hPa, and temperature with an accuracy of ±1.0°C. Due to the accuracy of the pressure, the sensor can be used to estimate the height within ±1 meter!
The working principle of the gas sensor is the change of the internal resistance, which is designed to be sensitive to the change of the volatile organic compound (VOC) gas concentration. Although the sensor works well, it should not be used for any safety,finished product purposes. All gas sensors need to be calibrated to achieve output.
